Is digital copying about to die?

Digital copying will never die. There are simply too many geeks out there working to circumvent copy regulations for it to ever completely fade away. It may well become much harder, and it may become illegal, but just like you can find a hacked up copy of Windows or Photoshop anyway, you'll still be able to copy digital media.

Furthermore this law may well be struck down eventually because it is too broad. I've read that in theory it would make it illegal to distribute *your own* digital media without a "watermark" or whatever. So if you're a starting band and you want to distribute your music, it could be illegal or unplayable on non-hacked software that is compliant with this law. And that is obviously bullshit and in a just world, shouldn't hold up.
